Description
Joanna Vestey is a photographic artist based in Oxford, who is making work that explores the digitisation of information and technological shifts.
She studied photography at the Surrey Institute of Art and Design and at Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem and has an MA in Social Anthropology and Development from SOAS. Her work has been exhibited at The Ashmolean Museum, The Southbank Centre, Personal Structures/Open Borders, Venice Biennale (2017), Glastonbury Festival, The North Wall and published in Le Monde, The Times and The British Journal of Photography.
Her work is held in several collections including the National Portrait Gallery, London and was published by the Ashmolean Museum in 2015. Also in 2015 she completed a practice led PhD at the European Centre for Documentary Research and is currently an Associate Lecturer at the University of Plymouth. In 2021 she was the recipient of the RPS/TPA Environmental Bursary award.
