Description
Jermaine Francis is a London based photographer/artist whose practice works within the disciplines of Book, Gallery and editorial. Francis primarily works in the discourse of the Photo Document.
Jermaine has exhibited at the International Centre of Photography in New York, The National Portrait Gallery, and has appeared in Monographs such as Photo No, No’s by Aperture, & The Art of Protest, Political Art and Activism by Gestalten. Jermaine also contributes projects to magazines such as I-D, Autre Magazine, Beauty Papers, Boy Brother Friend.
His most recent project, ‘A Storied Ground’ which asks the viewer to consider the Black figure’s complicated relationship with the English landscape and nature, has been exhibited at Galeriepcp Paris 2022 and his new film project will show at Camden Arts Centre in May.
He is also making new work, A Pleasant Land, for the 2023 Oxford Photo Festival in collaboration with Pembroke College’s students and the Pembroke JCR art collection.
